After almost nine years, the municipality of al-Qayrawan district announced the first steps of the government in Sinjar district to remove the construction debris that was left after the ethnic cleansing and destruction of the property of the Yazidi population by ISIS terrorist organization in 2014.

Branches of the municipality notified residents of neighborhoods and villages that those wishing to remove the remains of houses demolished by military action could apply to the municipality.

The municipality has launched a home registration form, and applications will be delivered to one of its branches in preparation for the launch.

The move is the first of its kind, as it helps Yazidi refugees clear their homes from rubble. The state has promised to help with the construction of new homes.
